VOCAL Technologies, Ltd. a leading designer of software and hardware solutions for voice, video, fax, and data, and Tilgin, a leading provider of solutions for multi-play and next-generation broadband access, announced the successful completion of an extensive interoperability testing with the VOCAL TR-069 Client software stack and Tilgin ACS. The two companies will partner to bring the benefits of TR-069 (aka Broadband Forum’s CWMP) to new products with enhanced customer services.
The VOCAL TR-069 Client and TILGIN ACS provide a comprehensive system for remote management of Customer Premise Equipment (CPE) in compliance with CWMP. The system provides full life-cycle support of CPE devices including initial activation, service upgrade, maintenance and subscriber care. Delivering services based on remotely-managed CPE keeps operational costs low while enabling new features for increased revenues.
The VOCAL TR-069 Client and the TILGIN ACS coordinate delivery of all services and device updates without any intervention required of the customer. The Client automatically discovers the ACS periodically, at startup, and when notified by the ACS. Using a secure network connection, the Client can reconfigure CPE device settings and controls, activate vendor services, and update applications as provided by the ACS.
Tilgin and VOCAL continue their respective efforts to provide cutting-edge solutions. With this latest success Tilgin dramatically increases the number of vendors who can participate in their Connected Home ecosystem while VOCAL’s client solution offers added value to the many devices already in place today as well as new products in development around the world. “Our customers can have confidence knowing that our standards-based software is fully interoperable with products from other vendors”, said David Jamieson, Business Development at VOCAL.
